The 27th Annual East Coast Nickstock 2012 is dedicated to the exposure and promotion of emerging original artists. Simply put, Nikstock is a great chance for local bands to play on a big stage in front of a lot of people and get a taste of what it's like for the big acts. The event always has at least one headlining act to set an example of professionalism for the rest of the bands to learn from.

Nikstock has taken place all throughout the Central New York area and has now extended to the lower part of NY State. This year marks the 26th anniversary of Nikstock and will be held June 15th-16th, 2012 at Champion Speedway in Owego, NY. There are 3 spots reserved for Sonicbids artists.

All genres are accepted. There will be DJs, Metal bands, Cover Bands, Tribute bands and even solo acoustic acts. Artists come from all over the country to show off what they've got, gain some new fans, sell some CD's and meet people. After all, what fun is being a musician if you can't play in front of a large, cheering crowd?

For those who have never been to Nikstock, the event is a great opportunity to meet new people, listen to music, party, and camp out for the whole weekend. Many of the coordinators have been doing this for nearly 20 years, and for them, it's more like a family reunion.

Last year saw over 40 bands performing across two stages. This year, Nikstock hopes to book 80 bands to perform on two stages over 4 days. At first glance, Nikstock and its organizers may seem like a crowd of social misfits, but don't be misled. They're the kind of people who live life to the fullest. They love to be around other people, work hard and play very hard! They're success oriented, positive thinking, and make things happen.

Sunset Sessions and Sunset Sessions ROCK! are music industry-only conferences that bring together professionals from all branches of the music industry to expose them to the freshest new talent and treat them to some legendary favorites. Its alumni include The Black Keys, Jason Mraz, Jimmy Cliff, Third Eye Blind, Stephen Stills, Dead Sara, Stevie Nicks, Everlast and many, many more.

One showcase slot has been reserved with all performance fees waived for a Sonicbids artist. All other artists and labels (whether independent or major) are required to pay a $2,500-$8,000 fee for a performance spot. Selected Sonicbids artists will also qualify to be included in future Sunset Sessions events.

Sunset Sessions and Sunset Sessions ROCK! offer the chance to perform in front of a captive audience (they literally take attendance before each performance) of top industry tastemakers from radio stations, music supervisors from film, TV, commercials and video games, along with record companies, managers, publishers, and the press. The 2011 Sunset Sessions ROCK! was attended by over 600 industry professionals and 2012 Sunset Sessions was attended by over 1600 industry professional!

Artists who perform at Sunset Sessions have the opportunity to be interviewed, streamed, and broadcast by the various radio, internet, press, and media outlets who attend and cover the event each year. The Terrapin Hill Family Reunion is held in Harrodsburg, Kentucky and hosts some of the most talented local, regional and touring artists. Each year, it attracts between 500 to1000 people who come to the festival to experience the 15 musical acts that perform over the weekend. The festival is now accepting submissions from traditional and progressive bluegrass bands who wish to perform live at the festival.

Compensation for artists is negotiable. Travel and lodging is negotiable for touring artists, and all musicians will be provided food and beverages at the festival. The music takes place on 2 stages with no overlapping sets and each stage is equipped with a full sound system and a sound engineer.

About the Terrapin Hill Farm Festivals:

The Terrapin Hill Farm Family of Festivals occurs in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. These family-friendly events take place at Terrapin Hill Farm, a beautiful 375-acre organic family farm located in the heart of the Bluegrass Region. Kingdom Bound Ministries, founded by Fred Caserta in 1987, continues its missions to present the Gospel through the Performing Arts. Annually the Kingdom Bound festival reaches over 55,000 people from all over the Northeastern US and Southern Ontario with four days of concerts, seminars, sports and children's activities, set at Darien Lake Theme Park Resort. There is 1 slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist to perform at this event. For more than 20 years, the festival has featured a talent competition in various forms.

Practice hard, polish up, and come ready to have a good time, because Kingdom Bound is expecting this year to be its best talent search ever. The 2012 Kingdom Bound Talent Search has again been designed to offer artists the opportunity to let the fans decide who they want to see perform at Kingdom Bound through an Online and Live Talent Search Competition.

On-line voting will begin on June 1, 2012 and close on June 29, 2012.

Online and Live Talent Search Competition:
Up to 10 artists will be selected by considering both the fan voting results and panel judges' voting selection. The 10 artists selected have the opportunity to participate in a live competition at Kingdom Bound 2012. Live competitions will take place at Kingdom Bound 2012 at Darien Lake Theme Park Resort located in Darien Center, NY (near Buffalo, NY) on August 5th beginning at approximately 3:00PM. Selected artists are expected to perform one of the songs submitted using Sonicbids. For those who wish to compete as a band, Kingdom Bound will supply all the necessary back-line gear. Sharing back-line gear is required and makes the transition between contestants go more smoothly.

A Kingdom Bound representative will notify selected bands the first week of July. At that time, bands will be required to send in a competition fee of $50 for solo artists or $100 for bands. Bands selected as finalists will appear live at the 2012 Kingdom Bound Talent Search. One winner selected from the finalists on August 5, 2012 at the live competition will advance to the Christian Festival Association National Finals.

Overall Winner from Kingdom Bound 2012 Advances to Christian Festival Association's National Finals:
The overall Kingdom Bound winner will be combined with winners from other Christian Festival Association (CFA)festivals nationwide. These finalists will ultimately be both voted on through a national fan voting page and considered by the CFA National Talent Search panel. National Fan voting will take place between September 15 and October 31. The 2012 CFA National Talent Search Winner will be selected by considering both the fan voting results and panel judges' voting selection. The ultimate winner of the CFA National Talent Search will be Final winner to be selected and notified by November 7, 2012.

Full performance slot at each participating 2013 CFA festival (stage and time slot to be determined by each individual festival)
Inclusion on artist list of each participating 2013 CFA festival
Featuring of National winner on all participating CFA member festival websites

The search for new musical talent in New Zealand has begun with registrations now open for City Showcase, the live music event taking place in Napier from 6-8 July.

One artist will receive a US$1,000 travel stipend towards their trip to City Showcase: New Zealand provided by Sonicbids.

City Showcase: New Zealand was first held in Napier in 2010 and is based on the successful City Showcase in London, England. This year's event will be held in conjunction with the cycle extravaganza, Napier - For The Ride Of Your Life. The event acts as a showcase for new and emerging musicians who will be given the opportunity to perform at free gigs in and around Napier's Art Deco city centre, with the ultimate winner scoring the right to play in London in 2013. The winner will also get the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with some of the industry's most influential executives.

A judging panel made up of leaders from the New Zealand music industry will be in Napier to judge the competition and the public will also have the chance to vote. One of the events judges will be Mike Chunn, CEO from the Play it Strange Trust.

"The City Showcase concept is a wonderful opportunity for new music and top-flight performance. It's about taking the music to the people and proving that young and emerging talent is there to be enjoyed. We live in special times - and NZ music has come of age" says Chunn.

City Showcase: Spotlight London has been launching new musical talent in the UK since 2003. The event is widely recognised as being one of the most diverse and high profile festivals in the world with over 200 musicians performing in central London, covering a range of musical genres.

It has launched the careers of: Amy Winehouse, Gabriella Cilmi, Keane, Laura Marling, N-Dubz, Newton Faulkner, Ray LaMontagne, Razorlight, Hot Chip, Scouting for Girls and Seth Lakeman.

City Showcase organizer Kevin Murphy said New Zealand had a wealth of musical talent but musicians needed more high profile platforms to promote themselves. The New England Americana Festival, expecting to reel in hundreds of festival goers, celebrates a long tradition of deep-rooted American folk music. POP Montreal is a grassroots festival created and supported by people who love music and live performance. Founded in 2002 by fans and supporters of music, it has expanded in scope and vision every year, and will celebrate its 11th anniversary from September 19th to 23rd, 2012.
