Relix Magazine's JAMOFF! is currently accepting submissions from unsigned artists for the September 2012 issue. One Sonicbids artist will be selected and featured on a Relix CD sampler included with over 100,000 issues of Relix distributed internationally.

Winners also receive editorial coverage and ad space. Relix Magazine reaches countless musicians, industry professionals, and music fans worldwide. In the past, samplers have included Bob Weir, Bela Fleck, Frank Zappa, Derek Trucks and 2004 JAM OFF! selected artist, Jonah Smith.

The selected artist will receive:

All genres of music are accepted. Please keep in mind that even though Relix is a publication dedicated to jam bands and improvisational music, it does not consider jam band a genre. Past selected artists have included musicians rooted in Rock & Roll, Bluegrass, Jazz and Blues. Artists are encouraged to submit more then one song, but must submit their music for each CD sampler separately. Previous submissions will not be considered once that opportunity has ended.

Relix is the music/lifestyle publication created especially for Jam-scene music lovers. It is the ONLY magazine reaching the widespread improvisational music scene. The 27th Annual East Coast Nickstock 2012 is dedicated to the exposure and promotion of emerging original artists. Simply put, Nikstock is a great chance for local bands to play on a big stage in front of a lot of people and get a taste of what it's like for the big acts. The event always has at least one headlining act to set an example of professionalism for the rest of the bands to learn from.

Nikstock has taken place all throughout the Central New York area and has now extended to the lower part of NY State. This year marks the 27th anniversary of Nikstock and Part II will be held August 3-4th, 2012 at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, NY.

A wide variety of genres are considered. There will be DJs, Metal bands, Cover Bands, Tribute bands & even solo acoustic acts. Artists come from all over the country to show off what they've got, gain some new fans, sell some CDs and meet people. After all, what fun is being a musician if you can't play in front of a large, cheering crowd?

For those who have never been to Nikstock, the event is a great opportunity to meet new people, listen to music, party, and camp out for the whole weekend. Many of the coordinators have been doing this for nearly 20 years, and for them, it's more like a family reunion.

Last year saw over 40 bands performing across two stages. This year, Nikstock hopes to book 80 bands to perform on two stages over 4 days. There are 3 spots reserved for Sonicbids artists.

At first glance, Nikstock and its organizers may seem like a crowd of social misfits, but don't be misled. They're the kind of people who live life to the fullest. They love to be around other people, work hard and play very hard! They're success oriented, positive thinking, and make things happen.

Blooming-Tunes is a Song Contest designed for Singer-Songwriters from the Midwest, who have visited the Midwest, who love the Midwest and/or who have Midwest connections. Original ONLY compositions will be reviewed by a panel of judges who all have a passion for music while coming from different backgrounds. The panel will include professional writers typically based in Nashville TN, working musicians/songwriters, and non-musicians who have shown a true ability to support the art of Songwriting and music. Sponsors include the promoter, business owners in the Bloomington Indiana area, the City of Bloomington (BEAD Grant) and local media. Submissions may be diverse, but will be disqualified if they contain profanity due to the fact that the winner's concert is a family friendly venue. Songs should be NO MORE than 5 minutes long. Submissions will be taken May 15, 2012 - August 30, 2012.

The top 4 winners will perform at the beautiful Buskirk Chumley Theater located 114 W. Kirkwood Avenue in lovely downtown Bloomington, IN on October 13, 2012. Artists will be compensated for their live performance and may be asked to participate in a live radio interview as promotion for the upcoming concert.

Last year's headliner was Don Pedigo, Nashville Tennessee who hails from Southern Indiana. Prior year's top talent included Jenny Devoe (Indiana based Singer/Songwriter - Commercial Songwriter), CJ Watson (National Award Winning Songwriter), Jeff Gilkinson (founder of 'The Dillards') Tirk Wilder (Nashville PRO writer - 'Eyes of a Texas Ranger'), Tim Grimm & Jan Lucas as well as Jason Wilbur (John Prine Band and radio personality 'In Search of A Song'). The top 15 submissions will be included on the 2nd Annual Blooming-Tunes Compilation CD and each selected winner will receive five copies for their personal use.

Songwriters must own all rights to their songs and Blooming-Tunes will not be obliged to any legal agreements that songwriters may have with various publishing, recording or production organizations.

Now in its 20th year, Chick Singer Night is the country's original and longest-running songfest for female artists. Chick Singer Night is a national non-profit organization of showcases featuring women in music. CSN has shows in 15 cities worldwide and is an opportunity for women to do a professional showcase of extremely high caliber.

Chick Singer Night Nashville takes place on the first Tuesday of every other month at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. CSN features five chick singers performing with the A-list house band. Past performers have included Norah Jones, Phoebe Snow, Paula Cole, Megan Mullally and many local and regional singers.

Karel Music Expo (KME) is the first music meeting in Sardinia, Italy, entirely dedicated to the indie universe. Its mission is to create effective connections among local, national and international labels, media, artists, and everything involved in the new global music scene.

Two showcase opportunities are reserved for Sonicbids artists, particularly one European artist and one non-European artist. The selected artists will be offered flights from European destinations connected to Cagliari, backline, accommodation, internal transfers and dinner on the evening of the performance. Extra-European flights will not be included.

KME 2012 is an unprecedented opportunity for international labels to have their top bands showcasing in front of an exclusive group of high-level music and media professionals, as well as to create a contact net in the Mediterranean area.

Independent Music and Media is a digital publication that encourages a "Do - It - Together" ecosystem for independent musicians through focused social media interactions. As an alternative to mainstream music, they feature musicians in almost any genre. Their goal is to promote and contribute to a consistent, self-sustaining independent music community. Their page gets about 200 page views a day. They are looking for US based artists for featured interviews that will be written as well as recorded.

Independent Music and Media started in February of 2008 as a local television program that interviewed musicians in the southeast Louisiana area.

It slowly grew into an outlet for musicians all over the country. Hosted by Ced 1, it gave a new flavor to promotions and support for independent artists. As he searched for ways to expand its reach, Ced 1 travelled to different markets such as Dallas, TX and Chicago, IL to continue carving a niche for creative musicians.

Season of Song, to be held September 20th - 23rd in Vail, Colorado, is three days and nights of new music, networking, keynote addresses and hit songwriter Q&As. In its 1st year, Season Of Song hopes to attract more than 4,000 professional music enthusiasts and songwriters. Performances will be held nightly in over 12 of Vail's greatest music venues.

Season Of Song panels and Q&As will give an in-depth look at how songs can changes lives, stories behind how the hit songwriters have created those songs, and how we all can change the lives of others through song.

Keynote speakers will include world class songwriters from Nashville and Los Angeles, David Via from Strike A Chord for Kids, and Michaael Thau from Plant-it 2020.

"Season of Song" will also be making donations to Strike a Chord for Children, a non-profit organization providing the gift of music to seriously ill and disadvantaged children; and to Plant It 2010, a non-profit organization founded by John Denver established for the purpose of environmental preservation.

They are presenting primarily solo singer/songwriters that have a story of change. Not necessarily a song about change, but more so how their songs might have changed the lives of others.

It is their goal to make all of their performers feel at home. We promote the rubbing of elbows vibe with other artists and attendees alike. Having songwriters sitting in and playing music with other songwriters, jamming when it feels right, hanging out in a lodge and talking with people about songs that have changed them and others is what will make this event a success for everyone. Vail is a perfect place to foster this type of interactivity.

Now in its 11th year, the Spring Music Festival is a celebration of music that showcases 100 of the hottest 'buzz acts' from Canada, the US and Europe. It will take place in May, 2013 at more than 12 live music venues in the city of Hamilton, Ontario.

Spring Music Festival has selected over 110 Sonicbids artists in the past 6 years, with more than 90 bands performing in 2012. There are a minimum of 20 slots available for 2013, and only Sonicbids artists will be considered. In 2012 we featured such major artists as Gilby Clarke of Guns and Roses, Big Wreck, Neverending White Lights, MENEW, USS (Ubiquoutious Synergy Seeker), Kevin Hearn (of the Barenaked Ladies) and Before the Curtain (signed to the 3 Days Grace label).

Selected artists will be compensated for their performances. Artists from outside the region will receive lodging and a minimum of $50 to offset travel costs. For artists with larger draws, larger financial compensations will be offered. Festival management will work with each artist to ensure maximum media coverage.

The festival will bring in headlining and touring bands. All selected artists will be considered for support at these concerts. Also, your band can be chosen for a showcase spotlight as part of the Songwriters Showcase.

All genres of contemporary music are accepted with a focus on rock, heavy music/new metal, reggae/ska, and hip-hop/R&B. All bands are eligible.

Past performers include: Sweet Thing, Die Mannequin, Three Days Grace, Ron Sexsmith, Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Danko Jones, The Trews, The Tea Party, IllScarlet, Neverending White Lights, SNOW, Tomi Swick, Gentlemen Husbands, STEMM, Threat Signal, Jack DeKeyser, Bleeker Ridge, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Cancer Bats, Jonas & The Massive Attraction, The Marble Index, Junkhouse, Ryan Malcolm/Low Level Flight, Grady, Cursed, Social Code, Robin Black and many more.

As an added bonus, all artists who submit will be eligible to participate in the Rock And Roll Challenge, presented by Y108 FM, where one band will win $5,000 in cash and a development prize worth $30,000. This is not mandatory, but an option for those who wish to participate. Details about the Rock and Roll Challenge will be announced soon.

About the Battle of the Bands:

The Solano Avenue Stroll, East Bay's largest street festival, features over five hundred vendors including, non-profit organizations, food booths and entertainers. At least five Sonicbids members are guaranteed to perform during the event, receiving compensation ranging from $250 to $450.The stroll expects more than 250,000 attendees this year.

Artists from a wide variety of genres are encouraged to submit to this opportunity. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a theme parade consisting of about 100 groups and organizations. Afterward, the Stroll kicks into high gear, featuring 75 entertainers, 50 food booths, 150 juried crafters, wacky art cars, and almost 200 community non-profit organizations. Performances are grouped into two to three one hour shows, placed one hour apart.

No equipment or backline is provided, so selected artists should bring all their own instruments, cables, mics etc.

Since 1974, the merchants, restaurants and professionals, as well as the twin cities of Albany and Berkeley CA, have hosted the Solano Avenue Stroll, put on by non-profit organization, The Solano Avenue Association. It is invariably the second Sunday in September.

Past performances have included: Incendio, CZ and the Bon Vivantes, Funky Bus & the U-Turns, Otis Goodnight, California Repercussions, Emeryville Taiko, and the Templebar Royal Hawaiian Ukulele Band.
