The Mile High Club is a new club located in downtown Philly (PA). They are on the third floor of Doc Watson's Pub and are looking for bands to come help start a new reputation of rocking the house!

Bands who are booked should be able to play 45 minutes of original material and the minimum draw is 15 people. Compensation is based on draw at the door. They typically book rock, indie and pop acts, and book 7 nights a week. They are also open to both local and regional acts, and open to touring acts with a following.

Unlike other clubs in the area, they don't care if you are the skinny jeans crowd, the metal crowd or whatever. If you can play and can back it up with a following, you will be considered. The venue has their own sound equipment and in-house sound personnel.

The Love Song to New Orleans Song Contest is searching for one remaining "magical" song for their upcoming compilation to be released October 1st. The CD is a complimentary mix of blues, jazz, Americana, southern rock & folk that has songs either about New Orleans & Louisiana directly, or just inspired by (in style or vibe).

The compilation will be sold in retail stores in Louisiana (Louisiana Music Factory, Peaches Records, Borders etc.), to the many tourists that come each year to the various festivals as well as to the locals. Part of the proceeds will benefit the New Orleans Musician Relief Fund which sends grants to displaced New Orleans musicians affected by hurricane Katrina. It will also be made available to the digital retailers (Itunes, Amazon, etc).

Live promotional events will be staged for the release October 1st. Entrant will have a chance to perform at these live events and CD release party in New Orleans. The compilation will also be promoted heavily to blues, jazz, Americana, folk & Southern rock magazines & radio media worldwide.

ADK microphones is helping to sponsor the event and will be donating a microphone to the winning song entrant. The songwriter will be offered the standard mechanical royalty for each CD/download sold as well as promotion on our websites. This is their second song contest- the last one received International radio and print coverage, and was voted one of the "Top 12 song contests by Music Connection Magazine". Laserdome is a laser tag arena in Manheim, PA that hosts 3 live bands every Saturday night from 10pm-1am. They have a state of the art custom laser light show that synchronizes with the music.

Genres accepted include rock, indie, alternative, and experimental rock. Nothing too heavy will be selected.

Laserdome only pays headlining bands, here is how that works: They will make fliers with $5 off coupons for the band to hand out to friends and fans. As the fans show up, Laserdome marks the coupons they bring. If they see 10 coupons back by the end of the night, the band will get $150. If they see 30 or more coupons back by the end of the night, the band will get $250 for the gig. If they DON'T see 10 coupons back by the end of the night, the band will NOT get paid for the gig.

Local draw is preferred if headlining, but not necessary if opening.

All of their shows are in a dome, with a PA system provided. Monitoring is not needed due to the loudness of the room already.

About the promoter, Pat Adams:

Pat Adams worked for the Kaleidoscope, a Nashville music paper in the 1970's. He was also a roving reporter for WLAC-AM, reporting from Nashville hotspots like The Hee Haw TV set and RCA Recording Studios, where Elvis Presley recorded many of his hits. This was the start of Pat's interest in concert promotion and covering the local music scene.

His first project was the Creekers Ball in the 1980's, an annual Nashville music event featuring dozens of southern rock acts.

In 2003, Pat got the idea for Tennessee Concerts as an outlet to document, preserve and showcase his decades of covering the Nashville music scene, online to a worldwide audience.

If an artist requires compensation, Crystal Tours can add that to the cost of the tickets for the cruise to ensure that the performers are paid. Performers will not be required to purchase their cruise tickets, but will only have to pay for any beverages, "extras" they purchase on the cruise, or excursions.

Crystal Tours requires that the artist promote this during their performances leading up to the cruise, as well as on their websites and other social networking media. The number of cabins the performers receive depends on the number of cabins sold. So the more the band promotes, the more they will receive.

Bands are not working for the cruiseline when they perform, as they are working for themselves. Crystal Tours will have a private group on the cruise ship. The winner from each night will be given a performance slot at the RethinkPopMusic Stage during Midpoint Music Festival (MPMF) on September 25th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Additionally, prior to the artists' performance, the single for the RethinkPopMusic Compilation CD must be submitted as an uncompressed stereo track. RethinkPopMusic guarantees to select 2 artists from Sonicbids, but is considering selecting up to 10 artists through Sonicbids.

Day of Discovery is a wine, food, music experience geared for fans of Wente Vineyards' Discover the Wine, Discover the Music series. With an anticipated attendance of 1,500-2,000 and artists like Maria Taylor, The Lovemakers and Scissors for Lefty, fifth generation winemaker Karl Wente sums it up nicely: "Good food, good wine, good people, good music."

Selected artist will be compensated $250-$500 plus, the artist can sell merch (Hard Goods:10% to house, Soft Goods: 25% to house).

Artists should submit if they feel as though they should be paired with a Wente wine. Be prepared to explain which wine and why.

September 5 was chosen as the date to tap into the the 100,000+ people who come to Livermore for the annual Livermore Harvest Festival across Labor Day Weekend.

Ever wondered what it would be like to play in the actual barrel room at a top winery? Day of Discovery is comprised of four stages, all set on a secluded slice of Wente Vineyards' prime terra, & all used in the actual production of Wente's wines. The stage where you would perform is inside the actual Barrel Room! Each stage is programmed by sonically pairing artists to specific Wente varietals-- experientially extending DWDM's innovative wine/music pairings. People around the world are drawn to Sausalito, certainly for its picturesque beauty, but possibly because it is so uniquely different from anywhere else. Creatives, nonconformists, the famous (and infamous) have felt its gravitational pull.

IndieGoGo are partners with the Saulsalito Film Festival and working on a cool screening/party night on August 22nd, 2009.They will have an IndieGoGo selected film play at 7pm and then at 9-12 there will be a party with beer, alcohol, and food sponsors. At least one Sonicbids artist/band will be selected to perform at the event; modest compensation may be available for the artist. There will be around 200 people and are looking for a cover band or classic rock, latin, world, alternative group to play for 90 minutes.

The Diamonds of Metro Valley - Direct Film Licensing Placement

The Diamonds of Metro Valley is inspired by diamond heist films of the 1970's. It is filmed almost entirely on green screen, and the backgrounds for each scene were individually designed shot by shot.

Exciting sequences include a twelve inch robot growing to the height of a three story building, numerous gun-battles and explosions, and a thirteen minute car chase created with model cars and live action. They are specifically looking for 70's jazz influenced instrumental songs, with a lot of percussion, and music containing organ and flute music.

This film will be submitted to film festivals both nationally and internationally, and we will be seeking all possible online and DVD distribution opportunities.

Several years in the making, each scene in DMV has been painstaking handcrafted with multiple design and digital effects elements, effectively contributing to the unique look of this hand-made, DIY project.

They encourage artists to view the website and trailer for information on their style and the look of the project prior to submitting.

Artists will receive credit, copy and plenty of opportunity for exposure.

This is the 25th year for Simi Valley Days, held in Simi Valley, CA. It is the second year the event has had an Acoustic Performance Stage. The Acoustic Stage will be accepting submissions for performance on Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 13th.

In order to be considered to perform at the SVD Acoustic stage, you must meet the following criteria:

Your performance must be acoustic based

Absolutely no drums allowed! Percussion such as congas or a cajon are acceptable.

At least one member of the act must be 25 years of age or younger.

No vulgarity or offensive language or actions as this is a family event.

There is no compensation available for the performance, but all performers will be given room at a booth near the stage to sell their performance related merchandise during and directly after the performance.

This indie event was created to allow unsigned bands an opportunity to perform, meet other artists and market their original music to Elgin-Middlesex-Oxford counties. It is their goal to bring this vibrant culture to St. Thomas, showcasing talented artists and to create stimulus to a region affected greatly by the economic slowdown in manufacturing.

The event is organized by Rail City Multimedia which has teamed up with the folks at the North America Railway Hall of Fame and their 'Summer Blast' Concerts to help raise money for the Canada Southern Railway Station restoration initiative.

They are aggressively searching services sponsors to provide discounted lodging, food and equipment for all artists. These discounts will be available on their website starting the week first week of July. Sonicbids artists will be given 90% of all slots allotted; there are 36 reserved slots of Sonicbids members.

Artists will compete for the chance to open for a major Canadian headline act at this years' Summer Blast. The festival will take place from September 9-12 2009. All bands will receive stage time in order to show their talent, in one of the 5 licensed venues in St. Thomas, Ontario.

Tesla Studio is located in Chicago, IL, owned and operated by musician/producer Erik Widman. Understanding the difficulties of creating original music, Erik opened a studio based on the principal of only charging artists for the use of his time, not the studio. The studio houses vintage and modern recording equipment from API, Universal Audio, Vintech, dBx, and Waves. Modeled after classic Swedish indie rock recording studios you'll find vintage instruments from Hagstrom, Fender, Vox, Ampeg, Moog, and Ludwig. The studio has a wide assortment of microphones to allow you to create a unique sound.

Submitting artists will be judged on their talent, work ethic, and the potential impact a world class recording will have on their career. Bands are responsible for travel and lodging. Selected bands will receive on free day of recording (10 hours). All genres are accepted.

7th Annual Northeast Kingdom Music Festival

The Northeast Kingdom Music Festival is a multi-stage, independent, grassroots festival that eschews big corporate sponsorship and does not believe in selling water to its attendees. The Northeast Kingdom Music Festival was created to bring back the old-school vibe, where a family event was not necessarily watered down and a good party did not mean a total lack of consciousness. The festival attracts a non-traditional, multi-aged festival crowd to a site that is both intimate and epic in its proportions.

The 7th annual Northeast Kingdom Music Festival takes place on Friday and Saturday, Aug 7 & 8, 2009, at The Chilly Ranch in Albany, VT, a private and exquisitely beautiful natural setting in remote but accessible Northeastern Vermont (10 minutes off I-91).

At least one Sonicbids artist will be selected to perform at this year's event. Submitting artists should be high energy, dynamic and danceable with traditional or hip-hop elements. NEKMF books eclectically in genres such as funk, bluegrass, reggae, hip-hop, Americana, rock and world music and is especially interested in hip-hop, high energy, instrumentally proficient bluegrass and gypsy music submissions. The booking emphasis is on musical integrity and original, roots and rhythm oriented music that is danceable. NEKMF generally does not book "jam-bands" although they are booked on occasion.

Which stage selected artist(s) performs on will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Compensation is negotiable, but the lower fee/bands willing to play for "exposure" most likely to get booked. A travel stipend is possible and VIP camping accommodations are provided.

The Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) takes place over 3 days bi-annually in the scenic hills below Mt. Mitchell at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC. This unique mountain and lake setting is a treat for performers and festival-goers alike with six stages spread out over the 600 acre property. So far the festival has hosted more than 250 performers representing over 40 different genres. There is at least 1 slot reserved for Sonicbids artists.

LEAF is a non-profit organization established to enhance people's lives through creative expressions, the arts, dance and music from a variety of cultures. They seek to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural traditions and the arts in Western North Carolina and beyond.

The LEAF lineup is a combination of many different genres - all rooted in a particular cultural tradition. Serving up something for everyone, some of the genres we accept include Latin, African, Celtic, Middle Eastern, Asian, American "roots" music (including folk, blues, bluegrass, and Cajun), and a world of cultures in between.

International artists are encouraged to apply. They are extremely interested in artists who are ambassadors for their cultures, ready to enlighten and educate while they entertain. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances at a rate to be negotiated prior to booking. The great music and the exhilarated crowds create a community spirit that reaches across cultural and ethnic borders.
